As I sit here in front of my laptop, tea and biscuits in front of me, having just failed to boot up some sort of copy of NCAA14 on my laptop whilst Madden whirs away on my PlayStation, I think it is fair to say I'm somewhat of an American Football fan.
However, something I haven't been before is a College Football Fan...or at least properly. Yes, the odd Saturday I'd marvel at the school spirit and sit back to watch two teams I barely recognize go head to head for...something?
But, that is about to change, the past few days I've began to delve into the College Game and, yes I knew the basics before, but I want to give myself an almost expert understanding of the game and the teams, so, why not write a blog nobody will read to document my journey as I make the first step. Choosing a team.
Choosing a team is no easy feat. Mainly because, well, I don't live in the US, I never have. Yes, I've been a massive NFL fan for years now (GO COLTS!). Yes, choosing an NFL team took some time but worked out eventually. But, College is a lot more local a sport. Games aren't on as regularly here. I don't get that natural culture and belonging. If anything, choosing a team is almost seen as a scummy thing to do.
However, I have to start somewhere, and now I'm going for it. Yet, where do I start? How do I choose my team? I see only one option, go through every single team I can and write about them, why I should join their ranks, or why should I leave for greener pastures, and along the way hopefully provide a stupid entertaining way for others to learn about teams, or, that's what I hope I can do at least...
